Congratulations to seniors Audrey Brown ’19 and Courtney Dyer ’18 on winning the state’s first-ever beach volleyball pairs title last week.
The duo entered the pairs tournament ranked #2 and defeated the pair from Mohave in two sets to advance to the championship round.
Avenging a pairs loss from the team tournament, Audrey and Courtney defeated the #1 ranked pairs team, 2-1, to be crowned Arizona’s first-ever pairs champions.
Courtney told AZPreps365, “For us to go down in the books at the first in pairs, and playing together with my best friend, is the best feeling ever.”
Both girls will continue playing volleyball in college. Courtney will attend Point Loma Nazarene University and Audrey will attend Westmont College.
